I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids under the age of 3 ½, with a husband who works out of the house, faced with many challenges every day. Not only do I have the challenges of parenting, but I have been finding myself skipping meals, eating the kids' leftovers, snacking on kid snacks, and rushing through my own meals or eating on a wacky schedule to tend to 2 toddlers and an infant. Clearly, the kids are coming first, and I fall at the bottom of the list in every day life as well as my health. My children eat better than I do as they always get fruits and vegetables with every meal - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and I don't give them sugar. Junk food is not an option in my house. If only I could do for myself what I do for them.
As a former HMR Health Educator, I helped hundreds of people achieve their goals with weight and health management, but now, after 3 babies, I am my own client. I KNOW exactly what to do, but the challenge for me is executing my plans. As many others do, I have great intentions. I wake up in the morning and start off my day right, but, as the day goes on and gets more and more hectic, things fall apart. By night's end, I am finding myself in bed with another day of missed food, no exercise, and unhappy with my weight. I not only want to lose the rest of my baby weight of 25 - 30 pounds, I want to have energy so that I can keep up with my kids every day, and I want to be heart healthy, regularly exercising again as I once did before I had children. I need to learn to put myself first while still caring for a family.
My husband has always struggled with his weight, since he stopped playing lacrosse after college. He runs a sales division of a company out of state so he works from home. He travels many weeks a year for work and coaches high school lacrosse every spring. He is constantly on the run, and finds himself eating fast food and unhealthy snacks more than he should. The challenge for him is preparing the food fast and staying full all day long. Like me, he prepares great meals for the kids, but is falling short of that for himself. Exercise doesn't come easy for him, and, without a plan, he is doomed!
In came Full Life and HMR...after making the decision to join the Kit Club, our first shipment arrived. We were like 2 kids who just got a new toy. We stocked our dining room shelves with our products and started right away. We are eating 6 or 7 times a day, WITH the children, staying full all day long, and practicing our better habits that we once had. We feel in control with our meal replacements, love experimenting with variety, and enjoy the volume we have with our fruits and vegetables at every meal. The new Multigrain Cereal is a lifesaver in the morning and the Chocolate Chocolate bars are like a treat when we are looking for something sinful. We are both exercising again, and loving it!! I am working out with a trainer once a week and my husband is working out with his high school lacrosse players every day on the field.
I have lost 10 pounds in the first 3 weeks and my husband has lost 15. We have more energy than you can imagine. I can't thank Alicia and Monica enough for their help and support! No more naps in the afternoon for us!
