I heard about the HMR Program at Full Life through my doctor. I was initially attracted to the limited choices and the focus on lifestyle behaviors. The Full Life coaches helped me stick with the commitment. Until HMR at Full Life I had been a 4 month dieter, then I'd get bored and go off the diet.
But I saw results! Not too fast and not too slow. Keeping records helped me stay accountable; the data was reinforcing and reminded me to stay "in the box"
My biggest challenge was fitting in the PA (Physical Activity). I have a busy career and a young child, plus a husband and a home to care for - when was I going to fit it in? I learned to plan for PA, I found stuff I liked to do, and I made it a priority.
My most successful moment was having my largest weight loss over the holidays! I stayed on the diet through Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Year's!
As I lost the weight, I learned that the number on the scale is secondary to the behaviors I am learning here; using HMR meal replacements, eating lots of veggies and fruits and doing PA every day. I am a PA freak!
I am in maintenance now and I use about 35 HMR shakes and entrees per week. The HMR shakes are my breakfast and I make a yummy HMR 70+ pudding for dessert every night. Eating lots of veggies with HMR entrees has helped me learn I can eat a lot and still be fit and thin!
The fact that the Full Life staff actively participate in the program always helps remind me that this is more than just a diet - it's my new lifestyle!
