The Mommy Post: Summer Cooking With Your Kids!

  
  
  

 

Hello readers!

 Those of you with kids are probably either out of school or will be out here in the next week...the next question you are asking yourself may be, "How on earth am I going to entertain these kids all summer?"

I ask that same question EVERY single day to my husband, wondering how many times we can do that same activity over and over before I get bored, and they kids get bored.

Here is your answer...COOK WITH YOUR KIDS!! Now, obviously, this is not going to take up your entire summer, but like any other strategy for weight loss and healthy lifestyle, it is an option for your "toolbox".  Incorporate it once a week, or twice a week, and maybe, just maybe, the interest will be there enough for you and for your kids that you can continue more throughout the summer! 

As some of you may already have seen on tv or read on the internet, Jamie Oliver has started a Food Revolution.  A recent email from Jamie was addressing this subject: what to do with your kids?

Visit Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Toolkit for cooking with your kids and view how-to videos of some easy recipes to start with.  Before long, your kids will be the chefs in the family and you can sit back and enjoy the healthy cooking from your own apprentices!
