Everyone wants to look and feel their best with summer just around the corner, and you can rely on your HMR shakes to help you improve your nutrition while slimming your waistline.

I have included this recipe - even though I don't advise daily consumption of diet soda - because every once in a while it's nice to have a really decadent shake.

6 - 8 oz. cold diet Root Beer (per scoop or packet)

Spring is just around the corner - but you may be feeling like a little spring break in February - so... Whip up this yummy Pina Colada, garnish with a maraschino cherry or a fancy paper umbrella and grab your sun block!

HMR Shake of the Week You Will Need:

2 Scoops HMR 120 Vanilla Shake
1 Can Crushed Pineapple or 1 Cup Fresh Pineapple
Coconut Extract
Rum Extract
Water and Ice

Start by putting about 1/2 cup water in the blender and adding pineapple, shake mix and extracts (just a couple of drops at a time!).  Blend until smooth.  Add water and ice to desired flavor and consistency.

Make this shake whenever you need a touch of the tropics (it will help you get bikini ready, too!)

Bon Apetit!

HMR Shake of the Week - Strawberry Ice Cream

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook | Submit to Digg digg it |  Add to delicious  delicious |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn |

There's just one word for this week's shake of the week.

YUM!!

HMR Shake of the WeekThe key to making this shake deliciously different is saving 1/2 of the berries to fold into the ice cream rather than blending up the whole batch. You will be amazed at what changing the texture of a shake can do to add variety. Freeze this shake for 30 minutes before serving to thicken it up.

This is a great recipe to have on hand when everyone else is indulging in dessert. (Remember that most gourmet ice cream comes in around 300 calories per 1/2 cup!) With recipes like this you can have treats you love without busting your calorie budget.

You will need:

  • 1 scoop HMR 120 Vanilla
  • 1 C Strawberries (fresh or frozen) - chopped
  • 4-5 drops strawberry extract

  • 1T Fat Free Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup crushed ice or ice cubes

Directions:

Put water, 1 level scoop of HMR 120 vanilla, 1/2 C strawberries, strawberry extract and pudding mix into the blender. Blend on medium speed as you gradually add ice. Continue blending until desired ice cream consistency is reached. Fold in other 1/2 C chopped strawberries.

Bon Apetit!

HMR Shake of the Week - Creamsicle Smoothie

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook | Submit to Digg digg it |  Add to delicious  delicious |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn |

Nothing is quite as deliciously refreshing as the taste of orange and vanilla - sweet and creamy Orange Creamsicle just like the ice cream man used to bring.

You can recreate this taste sensation with HMR 120 Vanilla shake mix and diet orange soda (HMR 500 Vanilla or HMR 800 Vanilla work well, too.)

HMR Shake of the Week Recipe You Will Need:

1-2 Scoops HMR 120 Vanilla Shake
3/4 to 1+1/2 C Diet Orange Soda
Ice Cubes

For this recipe you will use soda in place of water - but make sure you add shake to soda and not the other way around. Blend on low until mixed and add ice to desired thickness.

Our HMR Shake Recipe and Tips Pages feature another delicious way to create the Creamsicle of your dreams using Fat Free Sugar Free Orange Jello - just a teaspoon in a vanilla shake will do. And for those of of you who like a little fruit with your shakes - add clementines or mandarin orange slices.

Bon Apetit!

HMR Shake of the Week - Full Life's Cherry Chocolate Chew

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook | Submit to Digg digg it |  Add to delicious  delicious |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn |

Sometimes you need something that feels more decadent than your basic ice cream shake. For those times I recommend this concoction which will satisfy the sweetest of sweet teeth and give you fruit, nutrients and protein without breaking your calorie budget.

HMR Shake of the Week RecipeYou will need:

1 scoop HMR 120 Vanilla
1 cup frozen cherries
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup crushed ice or ice cubes
1 HMR Chocolate Chocolate Benefit Bar

Directions:

Put water, 1 level scoop of HMR 120 vanilla, 1/2C cherries in blender. Blend on medium speed as you gradually add ice. Continue blending until desired consistency is reached. Cut remaining cherries and HMR chocolate chocolate Benefit Bar in small pieces, fold into shake.

For a thicker ice cream consistency, use less water, more ice and freeze for 1/2 hour before serving. Bon Apetit!
