If cold winter mornings make the thought of a frosty shake unbearable... or you want a delicious treat to help you unwind after a long day at work - try any variety of this Chai Tea Hottie.
Fancy coffee shops will charge you 4 bucks for a chai latte - but you can create your own version using any dark chai tea and a scoop of HMR 120 Vanilla Shake. Not only will you save $$ - but with 11 grams of protein per scoop - this hot treat is packed with protein, too.
You will need:
1 Scoop HMR 120 Vanilla Shake
3/4 C Hot Water
1 Chai Teabag
Dash cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
Brew tea, pour in blender (or just stir in a mug!). Add shake mix and blend on high until frothy. Top with cinnamon.
You can use HMR 500 or HMR 800 with this recipe. HMR 70+ lactose free works best as a cold shake or pudding, so try chilling the tea before blending for a chai tea smoothie.
Keep a packet of HMR 500 Vanilla or HMR 800 Vanilla or pre-measured scoop of HMR 120 Vanilla shake in your purse and you can mix up this nutritious tea latte whenever you are on the go!
Bon Apetit!

What have you learned about yourself from all the diets you have been on in the past? Most people can identify one or two things they took away from a successful weight loss experience. Did meal replacements help you before? Did record keeping make the difference? What about the Physical Activity you were doing faithfully way back when?
The HMR at Home Program has all this and more - exactly what it takes to get weight loss results. Based on years of data and clinical experience, the folks at HMR have brought the basics of successful weight loss right to your doorstep.
Structure. Accountability. Fast, easy weight loss up front.
3 HMR Shakes, 2 HMR Entrees and at least 5 full cup servings of fruits and veggies each day. 300 Calories in Physical Activity. That's it. Our coaches help you learn how to do it. (And provide the accountability you need to make sure you stick with it!)
Approaching weight loss without structure is like planning a European vacation without buying any tickets. Would you just show up at the airport and hope for a flight? Not likely.
Would you board a flight without knowing where you will land? Again, not likely.
But many people take an abstract approach to weight loss - the "just do it" plan - and then wonder why their diet has fallen apart by 4pm.
Give yourself a chance to succeed. Try the HMR at Home Program for 3 weeks and see the results you need to get started on a path to a healthier life.

You may be on vacation, but your weight management isn't. Sure, you are out and about with the family, playing, swimming and doing some extra walking. All that PA is great!
Even so, you may find that your work clothes feel a little tight when that dreaded Monday back to the office finally comes. The likelihood that your PA has covered the fish n'chips, ice cream and hamburgers is pretty slim...
Instead of using your vacation time to indulge and pay for it later (kind of like putting the whole trip on your VISA card) why not create an opportunity to expand your healthy lifestyle skills instead. Vacation is a great time to try a new Physical Activity, or renew your interest in an old one. When was the last time you rode your bike around? - Try it - you'll feel like a kid again! Or go hiking, kayaking, roller blading...
Your HMR at Home Program can be taken on the road. Use the fruits of summer in cool low cal HMR recipes. Try some new vegetables from the local farmers' market.
HMR meal replacements are a great addition to any vacation plan. HMR shakes are perfect for a hot summer afternoon. My favorite these days is HMR 800V +HMR 120V plus tons (1-2 cups) of frozen blueberries and ice. I like it super thick like soft serve ice cream. And HMR entrees are portable and delicious at room temp (try HMR 5 Bean Casserole on a salad) so pack them up for a day at the beach - it will save you tons of time and calories.
Always have plenty of cold water - especially if you are running around on a hot summer day. Crystal Light mini flavor straws come in handy for instant ice tea or lemonade.
If you are serious about successful weight management, you have to start by changing your mind. Challenge your assumptions. Start thinking about what is possible instead of reverting to what you think is inevitable. Make a commitment to your weight and health.
If you want to be different, you have to be different.
What are you willing to change on vacation this year? Write down your goals and your plan. You can do it!
Wouldn't it be great to wrap up your vacation feeling energized, healthy, refreshed, and on track with your weight? You bet.
Oh, and - don't forget your sunscreen!

You know you have to do it when the shorts that fit last summer don't fit now and they have been sitting in the same drawer all winter. (Or... could it have been the hot laundry fairy who came in the middle of the night and ransacked the shorts drawer... again?...)
Right. Time to RESTART and get serious about getting back on track. Here's How:
#1 Check the stock of HMR Shakes, Entrees and Cereal - Join HMR at Home or Place an order if needed
#2 Check Fruits and Veggies - Go Shopping
#3 Get out the Record Book and Day and Date the pages
#4 Set Monthly Goal and Goals for the week # shakes, # entrees # V/F, PA
#5 Plan Strong Start Day
#6 Tell everyone you are planning a Restart and Enlist Support
Commit to your goals and your plan. Make sure you are as open to changing your behaviors as you were the first time. Make sure you are willing to try new things (after all, everything was new the first time). Don't get stuck in the rut of doing the same thing over and over. Experiment. Try new recipes. Try new shake formulas and combinations of those. (My new favorite is the HMR 120 Vanilla mixed with the HMR 800 Vanilla and frozen blueberries.) Try new Fruits and Veggies. Try new Physical Activities.
A client wrote to me about her restart, "These last three weeks my restart has been similar to a slow burn rather than a roaring fire. Like rekindling a relationship - tentative, cautious, slow to trust but forging ahead with the desire to 'make it work.' LOL"
That was about a month ago. Last night she was telling me about her goal to lose 30 more pounds so she can compete with a rowing team! The fire is roaring now!
Living a healthy lifestyle opens up a world of opportunities. But like most opportunities - a bit of luck meets preparation. Be ready, and willing to do what it takes to make it work. Don't put off 'til whenever... what you can do today!
If you have fallen off track - RESTART NOW! Right now. The next meal. Better yet, get out and go for a walk. I'm going out myself... right... after I squeeze... into... these... shorts!

So you have lost some weight - maybe a lot of weight...you have a pretty good routine going...but...the last couple of weeks you have had a nibble of this and that, it was raining so you missed a couple days of PA and aaahhhmm, boy, a nap would be good right about now...
It happens to everybody. The scale creeps up. A pound this week, a pound last week - no worries - you tell yourself - I can lose it easily - just like I did before...
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!! Cue sirens and red flags waving... This is how you gained weight in the first place. Little by Little. A piece of pizza here, a bite of cake there, and... a few too many mornings hitting the snooze button.
NOW is the time to STRRRRETCH! Yep. Do what you think you can't do. Do what you've never done before or try something again - maybe you'll like it this time.
Need ideas? Join a yoga class, or water aerobics, or rent a kayak. Hire a personal trainer (or call the Personal Coaches at Full Life for tips). Mix the HMR 500 Chicken Soup with HMR Entrees - Chicken Pasta Parmesan and Mushroom Risotto. Add more vegetables. Buy a food processor and make a mousse out of the HMR 70+ shake. Make delicious HMR 120 shakes with fat free sugar free jello puddings and freeze them for an hour or a day. Buy a vegetarian cookbook and try a new recipe. Visit a farmers market and sample a vegetable you have never tried before. Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and have your fruits and veggies delivered fresh from the farm.
When you decided to lose weight you welcomed change, pushed yourself out of your comfort zone. Now it's time to do it again. Be uncomfortable and you will grow. There's always something more you can do, learn, be. Find a way to go furtherr.
Long term health and weight management is not a destination, it's an ongoing journey... keep moving, push yourself and STRRRETCH!

Employers are beginning to take steps to reduce the cost of healthcare by providing incentives to their employees who better manage their weight and health. http://tinyurl.com/mutt3y
And, while I often hear concerns about the cost of joining a weight management program like HMR - the cost of NOT joining is much, much higher.
Corporations are in the business of making money - so it was only a matter of time before they realized that the good health of their employees is worth investing in. Workers in poor health are more expensive to insure, have more sick days, and are less productive on the job. Health management is cost management, and in the USA, it's the hit in the pocketbook that hurts some the most.
I am generally sympathetic to financial concerns - but it occurs to me that that trying to put a price tag on whether or not you can run around with the grandkids is absurd. Do you want to? If so, what wouldn't you pay?
Most of our clients admit that being in the HMR program actually saves them money on food. No expensive coffee drinks or nights out eating Chinese. People save on fewer prescriptions and medical visit copays. Washing your own car and mowing your own lawn saves, too.
A little extra cash is good 'cause there are some things that money can buy:
A 1400 calorie burger at Hardees - 6 bucks.
1400 calories of broccoli - 26 bucks
For those things that only a good quality of life can provide:
High School Graduation dinner with your granddaughter?
Priceless? You decide.
