In 1999, I was offered the opportunity to become the director of an HMR Program for Weight Management at a small hospital on the South Shore of Massachusetts near Boston.
I jumped at the chance to be involved in something that could make a positive impact on other people's lives. I also had my own personal struggle with food and weight and was eager to learn how to be healthier, too!
In 2004, I founded Full Life.
Through the years, I have had the amazing opportunity to work with people (like you!) who have brought courage, commitment and optimism to the task of building healthier lifestyles. Sharing your experiences has enriched my life and I have learned much, much more than I ever expected.
I am hopeful even when it seems that we are losing the fight in our country, where more people are obese than ever before and our children face a grim health future. I remain optimistic because, while so many of us struggle year after year, we still come back and try again.
When it seems too big to face, I remember to break it down. Do my yoga today. Eat an apple. Call someone and talk it over - make a plan.
I am committed to my healthy lifestyle, keeping track of my diet, eating my fruits and veggies, doing my physical activity...for me, and because of you.
I tell myself, "Be the change you want to see in the world".
And I remember why I do this. Because we all deserve good health. Because it is within our reach. Because if I can do it, you can do it, and together, we can make things different for our families and our communities and our children.
In 2012, I am beginning an Anusara Yoga Teacher Training Certification process which will allow me to move deeper in my own practice and to bring the benefits of Anusara Yoga to all my clients.
I look forward to continuing on this journey with all of you.
In Good Health,
Alicia Leeds Meyers
Here I am in JULY 2010 on the Flying Trapeze! if I can do this... you can do...anything!
